Following a sold-out engagement last year, the short-play competition 15 Minutes of Frame returns to the stage this month with performances August 21 through August 23 at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond St.) in Manhattan.

This year’s playwrights, actors, and directors will be presenting the best of over 500 plays submitted — and the winner will be decided by you, the audience.

The winning production will have the opportunity to develop their 15-minute short play into a full production, to be presented by Lucky’s Lighting Inc. and 24 Bond Arts Center at the Gene Frankel Theatre.
The winner will be announced following our final performance on Saturday night, August 23, with music, drinks, and celebration.

These festivals are presented in honor of Gene Frankel’s Summer Festival in August at The Gene Frankel Theatre & Film Workshop, and Gail Thacker’s Shotgun Theatre Festival at the Gene Frankel Theatre — where the audience vote tradition began.

This year’s plays are:
Pyramus and Thisbe by Lawrence Thelen;
Rumpelstiltskin: A Film Noir by Michael Hagins;
The Dinner from Hell by Mark Daponte;
A Density of Thought by Timothy Krause;
To the Dogs by Carol W. Berman;
The Unusual Chauncey Faust by Coni Koepfinger; and
The Waitstaff by Melvin Perry.

Performances of 15 Minutes of Frame will take place on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 PM, with final performances on Saturday at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30 ($20 for students and seniors).
