We are pleased to invite you to the New York presentation of Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano presented by The R.Mutt Society starring Kat Erasmus, Xavier Galva, Charlie Gillette, Jacob Rico, Nanda Valencia and Peter Wallace. Directed by Guillermo Logar (Mercury Fur, Seep).
About Us: Founded in 2013 for the production of the film Seep,The R.Mutt Society is a multidisciplinary company based in New York City. Finding inspiration for our name from Duchamp’s “Fountain,” The R.Mutt Society seeks to vitalize the performance and study of the masterworks of the theater of the absurd, while fostering the development of new artists and contemporary plays. The Society seeks to push the conventional limits of artistic expression, expand the medium and the message, and to explore new ways of engaging the audience with our investigations into the human experience.
Like Duchamp placing his “Fountain” in a museum, we are deeply curious about the shifting perception of art, based on the venue or frame in which it is presented. In addition to our various theater performances, the Society has been performing, and will continue to perform, in various settings such as apartments, art galleries, rooftops, and at private dinner parties.
