This one-of-a-kind piece incorporates key elements that have defined much of my recent work: contradiction, juxtaposition, and a vague sense of irony. A sheer patterned material is stretched over a wire frame that represents a human scale ladder - an image that can be associated with ambition, goalkeeping, and aspiration.  This ladder exists in a state of tension. While a ladder is generally stable and purposeful, these delicate materials challenge that notion. With a sense of unease, the viewer is asked to consider the balance between striving and falling short and the malleability of human will.
